Common questions from parents and swimmers.

Each answer is written in direct, plain language so families and answer engines can understand the service quickly.

What age can my child start swimming lessons at Khaya Aquatics?

Children can enquire for swimming lessons when they are ready to start building water confidence, listening skills and safe pool habits. Khaya Aquatics recommends that parents contact the team directly so the swimmer can be guided into the right learn-to-swim or development pathway.

Is the Blue Downs pool heated in winter?

Khaya Aquatics uses Blue Downs as a priority training area, and event material has referred to Blue Downs Indoor Heated Swimming Pool. Pool access, water conditions and seasonal availability should be confirmed directly with Khaya Aquatics before attending.

Does Khaya Aquatics offer lessons for adults, or only children?

Khaya Aquatics is community-focused and supports swimming development for different ability levels. Parents, adults, beginners and developing swimmers should contact the team to confirm the best available programme, session fit and training pathway.

How do I enrol in Khaya Aquatics swimming lessons?

To enrol or enquire, contact Christopher Van Niekerk on 084 584 0653, Daphnia Van Niekerk on 076 835 8083, or email chrisvanniekerk296@gmail.com. Ask about lesson availability, location, programme fit and the swimmer’s current confidence level.

What is the difference between Learn to Swim and Stroke Development?

Learn to Swim focuses on water confidence, floating, breathing, movement and basic safety. Stroke Development is for swimmers who can already swim and need better technique, body position, breathing rhythm, turns, control and preparation for squad or competitive training.

Are Khaya Aquatics events free to attend?

Some Khaya Aquatics events may be free, while others may require booking or an entry fee. Always check the specific event information or contact Christopher or Daphnia before attending, because event arrangements can change by date, venue and organiser requirements.
